Glass: Lampworking, Fusing, Glass Blowing & Stained Glass
Artist Statement:
My love of glass began as a child when I enjoyed the patterns of shifting colored light that came through a neighbor’s stained glass window. I was limited to collecting and admiring other people’s work until the fall of 2004 when I participated in a “walk-in-workshop” at the Corning Museum of Glass. Since then, I have taken many classes in Corning and continue to hone my craft in my home studio. Internationally known glass artists such as Loren Stump, Suellen Fowler and Jen Zitkov have critiqued my work. I now have branched out to fused glass, stained glass and glass blowing. In short, I love everything having to do with glass.
There is something very exciting about creating beautiful objects out of molten glass, at the torch, kiln or the glory hole. It is exhilarating to watch a solid piece of glass become soft and start to flow, knowing that you can control the glass and fashion it into something unique. My signature work has been my “painted” beads. The florals and landscapes are achieved with the application of small amounts of molten glass and the ability to manipulate the flowing glass.
My hope is that you will enjoy my glass and jewelry as much as I enjoy the creation of it. Commissions can be accepted and questions gladly answered.
