My first exposure to the pottery wheel was nine years ago at the Troy Farmers Market where Darren Prodger was doing a demo. I was instantly transfixed and signed up for a class at the Art Center of the Capital Region in Troy soon after. There I studied under various instructors: Doug Klein, JoAnn Axford, and John Visser, to name a few. Since that time, I have taken a ceramics classes at Sugar Maples in the Catskills with Michael Boyer and Susan Beecher, and at Skidmore College under Regis Brodie. This year, I joined the Saratoga Clay Arts Center where I continue to take classes.
I enjoy making pottery that people can use and enjoy in their everyday life, from strictly functional to raku and saggar. More recently, I have started making sculptural forms under the instruction of Jill Fishon-Kovachick.
In 2011, I had an addition added to my home which now houses my new ceramics studio where I will also be giving wheel and handbuilding lessons. This is a very exciting time in my life as I see the fruition of my dreams.
You can purchase my pottery and wall art at Strolling Village Artisans in Ballston Spa NY or contact me for a list of the venues where I will be selling my work in the near future.
