Manga Drawing for Teens

Class Time: April 19, 2008, 10 am - 2 pm

Lisa Martinez will cover the basics of proportion, expressions, hairstyles, head and body angles, clothing and accessories.  Human vs. Faerie.  How to achieve the impact you want.  Backgrounds, fantasy creatures.  Watercolor painting techniques.  Cost: $50.  Students will need to bring a drawing pad, pencils erasers, colored pencils or markers IF they have them, razor point or extra fine point black marker, lunch/snacks, drinks.  Contact Lisa Martinez to register: 581-1339 or willowsbend@hotmail.com


Beginning Watercolors

Class Time: Thursdays from 4 pm - 6 pm

Learn the basic techniques to get started in watercolor painting.  Stretching paper, color mixing,  different painitng techniques will all be explored.  Composition and  choosing a color pallette for pleasing results will also be covered. 


Acrylics and Oil

Class Time: Flexible Schedule, 2 hours a week for 6 weeks
Explore your creative side through acrylics or oils, you choose the medium. Classes will focus on basic skills to help the student bring their vision to canvas. No prior art experience is necessary. 
Course Fee: $150 plus materials.

ClayHand-Building and Wheel Throwing--Adults

Drawing

Class Time: Thursdays 4-6 pm; 6-week sessions
Learn techniques that will help you to more accurately portray your subject. Perspective, proportion, angles, line length, and shading will all be explored.
Materials needed: sketch pad, pencils, sharpener, knead-able eraser.
Course Fee: $150 

Fabric Beads

Class Time: One 2 hour class
Students will learn an easy technique for making fabric beads, then use their beads to create a necklace and bracelet. Experience level: no experience necessary

Glass Beadmaking / Flameworking

Class Time: Four 5 hour classes on weekends or seven 3 hour classes on weekday evenings.

Class 1 – Beginning Beadmaking, Class 2 – Embellishing and Encasing, Class 3 – Buttons and Sculpted Beads, Class 4 - Focal Beads and Pendants.  No experience required except the desire to learn and have fun.  Ages 13 and older please. Class Fee: $150 per 5 hour class or $500 set of four.  All materials provided.


Glass Beadmaking & Jewelry - Girls Night Out

Class Time: Flexible evenings and weekends, contact Heather for more information.  Open Studio Time with Flameworking Bench Rental and/or Jewelry Making for those interested in working on personal projects.  Class Fee: On Jewelry Making Evenings, pay for the materials you use.  Flameworking bench time is also available for $15 per hour or $120 for 10 hours.

Learn the art of flameworking at your own pace with individual instruction from glass artist Heather Leyh.  No experience required except the desire to learn and have fun.  Ages 13 and older please.  Class Fee: $35 per hour / (3 hour minimum).  All materials provided.

Students will design and stitch together a 4"x6" mini art quilt to hang on the wall or a postcard. You may hand stitch or machine stitch, a sewing machine will be at class. Experience level: very basic sewing skills.  Class Fee: $30 includes materials

Photography

Class Time: 2 hours a week for 6 weeks.
Learn techniques that will help you get the results you want from your photographs. Lighting, composition, exposure, color, printing will all be covered. Students must have a camera (digital or 35 mm) and are responsible for developing. 
Course Fee: $150 

Jewelry Making - Earring Party

Class Time: Evenings-One 2 Hour Class 
A fun evening for yourself or a gathering with friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn to create your own earrings using sterling silver wire, glass beads, and other unique beads and components. Learn the fundamentals of tool use, wire work, bead selection, and design techniques to make earrings that are uniquely you! This is a great class to get you started making your own jewelry. No experience necessary.
Class Fee: $25 + materials kit ($15 to $35)

Jewelry Making - Beginning Bracelet Making

Class Time: Evenings – One 2 ½ Hour Class
An evening of fun and creativity for yourself or a group of friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn the basics of bead stringing to create your own unique bracelet from sterling silver findings, glass beads, buttons, and other unique beads and components. Learn how to use a variety of materials to design and finish your first bracelet. No experience necessary. 
Class Fee: $30 + materials kit ($25 to $60)

Jewelry Making - Beginning Wire Work

An evening of fun and creativity for yourself or a group of friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn the basics of wire work to bend, loop, and coil wire to make unique components for earrings, a bracelet, or a necklace. This class will cover the fundamental supplies, tools, bead selection and design techniques needed to make jewelry with wire components that is uniquely your own. No experience necessary.
Class fee: $30 + materials kit ($15 to $60)

The Art of Giving Program

Class Time – Evenings – 6 week sessions starting in January 2008 
Monday's • January 7th - February 25th from 10:00-11:00am 
Tuesday's • January 8th - February 12th from 4-5pm 
Monday's • March 3rd - April 21st from 10:00-11:00am 
Tuesday's • February 26th - April 1st from 4-5pm
All age children welcome. Students will create 2-3 recycled/earth based works of art. During class we will converse about ethics such as compassion, respect, gratitude. At the end of the classes children may compassionately donate their art to be auctioned to raise money for a non-profit children charity of their choice.
