Manga Drawing for Teens

Class Time: April 19, 2008, 10 am - 2 pm
Lisa Martinez will cover the basics of proportion, expressions, hairstyles, head and body angles, clothing and accessories. Human vs. Faerie. How to achieve the impact you want. Backgrounds, fantasy creatures. Watercolor painting techniques. Cost: $50. Students will need to bring a drawing pad, pencils erasers, colored pencils or markers IF they have them, razor point or extra fine point black marker, lunch/snacks, drinks. Beginning Watercolors

Class Time: Thursdays from 4 pm - 6 pm
Learn the basic techniques to get started in watercolor painting. Stretching paper, color mixing, different painitng techniques will all be explored. Composition and choosing a color pallette for pleasing results will also be covered.
Acrylics and Oil

Class Time: Flexible Schedule, 2 hours a week for 6 weeks
Explore your creative side through acrylics or oils, you choose the medium. Classes will focus on basic skills to help the student bring their vision to canvas. No prior art experience is necessary.

Class Time: One 2 hour class
Students will design and stitch together a 4"x6" mini art quilt to hang on the wall or a postcard. You may hand stitch or machine stitch, a sewing machine will be at class. Experience level: very basic sewing skills. Class Fee: $30 includes materials

Learn techniques that will help you get the results you want from your photographs. Lighting, composition, exposure, color, printing will all be covered. Students must have a camera (digital or 35 mm) and are responsible for developing.

A fun evening for yourself or a gathering with friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn to create your own earrings using sterling silver wire, glass beads, and other unique beads and components. Learn the fundamentals of tool use, wire work, bead selection, and design techniques to make earrings that are uniquely you! This is a great class to get you started making your own jewelry. No experience necessary.

Jewelry Making - Beginning Bracelet Making

An evening of fun and creativity for yourself or a group of friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn the basics of bead stringing to create your own unique bracelet from sterling silver findings, glass beads, buttons, and other unique beads and components. Learn how to use a variety of materials to design and finish your first bracelet. No experience necessary.

An evening of fun and creativity for yourself or a group of friends with glass artist Heather Hollywood. Learn the basics of wire work to bend, loop, and coil wire to make unique components for earrings, a bracelet, or a necklace. This class will cover the fundamental supplies, tools, bead selection and design techniques needed to make jewelry with wire components that is uniquely your own. No experience necessary.

The Art of Giving Program

All age children welcome. Students will create 2-3 recycled/earth based works of art. During class we will converse about ethics such as compassion, respect, gratitude. At the end of the classes children may compassionately donate their art to be auctioned to raise money for a non-profit children charity of their choice.
